EasyStart soft starter for RV air conditioners
Adding a Bluetooth capable EasyStart from Micro-Air, Inc. to your RV allows an air conditioner to operate on a generator, inverter, or limited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned.
When added as a sensor to RV Whisper, data from the Bluetooth capable EasyStart will be logged to your RV Whisper system just like any other sensor allowing you to remotely monitor your Air Conditioner status, and receive customizable email and text Alerts. The historical graphs of EasyStart data are also displayed in RV Whisper just like any other sensor.
The compressor of an Air Conditioner or Heat Pump uses the most Amps (and power) when it first turns on. Once the compressor is running, it generally uses fewer Amps (less power) than during the startup time. If your RV Air Conditioner or Heat Pump has trouble starting up on a smaller generator or a 20Amp circuit, adding an EasyStart might solve that problem for you. Or if you have trouble starting your second Air Conditioners on 30 Amp hookups, the EasyStart might help with that problem also.
EasyStart data is logged by RV Whisper every few minutes with a timestamp so the data can be easily seen on the monitor station app and historical data can be easily viewed, just like any other RV Whisper supported sensor.
Which EasyStart Models Work With RV Whisper?
The Bluetooth capable EasyStart 364 Soft Starter for RVs (Model: ASY-364-X36-BLUE) communicates with the EasyStart Bluetooth phone app from Micro-Air to help diagnose and troubleshoot problems with your Air Conditioner. You can also add the (ASY-36-X36-BLUE) Bluetooth capable EasyStart364 as a sensor to RV Whisper.
If you already have an EasyStart from Micro-Air installed, and you are not sure if it is the Bluetooth version (Model: ASY-364-X36-BLUE) you can do one of the following to find out if your EasyStart supports Bluetooth communications and will work with RV Whisper:
- Try using the EasyStart phone app. Follow the detailed instructions in the EasyStart_Bluetooth_Manual.pdf to see if your phone can connect to your EasyStart over Bluetooth.
- Go on the roof of your RV, remove the Air Conditioner cover and look on the cover of the EasyStart for a Bluetooth sticker and/or a check mark next to “ASY-364-X36-BLUE” for the Model.
