How it Works
The RV Whisper Monitor Station is a small computer that runs inside your RV where it collects data from a number of Bluetooth wireless sensors. All sensor data is stored in the Monitor Station’s micro SD card so the data is always available when you are in or near the RV.
The Monitor Station can also connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network running in your RV. Users can then view the data (over the internet) and the Monitor Station can send alerts via email and text messages over the internet. The RV Whisper Internet Gateway runs “in the cloud” to securely connect your phone to your Monitor Station, and to enable email and text message alerts to be sent by your Monitor Station. Customers provide the WiFi network with internet access, such as a WiFi hotspot from a major cellular carrier.
The Monitor Station only works with 2.4 GHz WiFi networks which is the more standard WiFi frequency. Newer WiFi devices/routers sometimes are configured with only a 5 GHz WiFi network – by default. Customers may have to enable / turn on the 2.4 GHz WiFi network on their WiFi device so RV Whisper can see and join the WiFi network.
